PROJECT 1:
STEWARDSHIP & PERSONAL LOGO
This is my first project about personal logo and my own portrait and this is one of briefing to new started to new fresh student HBP
PROJECT 2:
NATURAL &
MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
For this project,I was required to produce a black and white sketch of a natural structure that can be found
around USM Main Campus such as trees and plants, insects, animals, other creatures etc.The sketch should include the elements of light and
shadow. I also required to do write up using ‘uppercase
architectural lettering’ for describing the object chosen for the sketch. This project introduced to us for enhance students’ understanding of basic elements and principles of design
through observation of existing natural and man-made structures.
Besides that, to enhance students’
creativity in presenting their ideas selectively and graphically.Next,To
nourish students’ skills in creative thinking, observation, sketching,
rendering, colouring, writing description and composing graphical images.
PROJECT 3A: OBJECTS CREATION:Free form sculpture
Tadaa..haha I`m also very disappointing with my own sculpture because I already organize to do different sculpture however it is result because chasing the time for tomorrow I have camping..but I appreciate what I have done it.My sculpture is represent as earth ball sphere that mention about violence all people when they did not wise in manage the source of earth then the side effect will affected to us.
In group of 3, I was required to produce a structural model of a wooden L-shape seating object that combines a table and chair. Besides aesthetical factors, students should also consider the function of the furniture as an outdoor comfortable resting spot for HBP community and visitors as it will be placed near the HBP pond-waterfall . The size of that L-shape seating object should not be more than 2.8m x 2.0m x 1.2m (length x width x height) dimension. The theme of that seating object is ‘UNITY’, but each group is free to choose their specific concept that is relevant to the stipulated theme. The scale of the model is 1:5 and there is no restriction in colours and materials to be used for the model construction) (new or recycled materials) .What can I learned from this project is to improve students’ ability in applying suitable elements and principles of design in producing a functional structure.Next, to expose the students to the challenges of designing a small structure that is a result of a connection or combination of two or more objects and
to improve students’ skills
in developing and communicating the ideas through conceptual scale model making.

PROJECT 4:
PRESENTATION DRAWINGS
|
Did you see before project and after project progressing...actually we required to build a comfortable L-shaped chair with main materials timber. This is our project 3 object connection.
This
is my product that called Makisu Chair because we inspired by Makisu
that also known as the bamboo mat that place sushi. So,it also ergonomic
for people who used it. I was required to produce a plan and elevations (front, right, left and rear) drawings of the wooden Comfortable CHAIR. The drawings should be coloured based on the actual
condition of their respective Comfortable CHAIR (not based on the colour of
their structural model) and drawings should be in A3 size and 1:20 scale.
This project to introduce students with basic technical or presentation drawings as a medium of communication in built environment. Moreover, to enhance students’ skills in communicating the ideas and presenting their design through a set of scaled 2D and 3D drawings.Furthermore, to improve students’ skills in rendering, colouring and composing graphical images.

PROJECT 5:
SENSE OF PLACE: NEIGHBORHOOD & COMMUNITY
For this project, I need to make a
self-visit (in group) to the chosen area to observe and gather relevant
information about the components or elements of the neighborhood area. The
results from the observation and the collected information then will be analyzed
and presented graphically in Project 5a and 5b. I would like to choose Sunway Mutiara, Batu
Maung, Penang as my site visit due to enhance students’ understanding of
basic elements and components of neighborhood planning through their
observation of the existing neighborhood area.It is also to enhance
students’ understanding of the main physical and non-physical factors that
should be considered in planning and designing a layout plan for neighborhood
area and expose the
students with basic planning technical knowledge. On the other hand,we can enhance our ability in
critically analyzing the common issues of neighborhood or residential area
development, especially in terms of site context, human and community needs and
the possible effect of the development to its surroundings
and expose to the task of
gathering information from local authorities and incorporating relevant
information in their planning-related studio projects. Moreover, to improve students’ skills in analytical thinking, observing,
sketching, rendering, colouring, writing description and composing graphical
images.

PROJECT 6:
INTEGRATED PROJECT:
DESIGN & BUILD ‘AN AMPHITHEATER STAGE’
In
a group of 16 members, all 12 groups of RUS104 need to design a comprehensive studio project that includes the aspects of site analysis, architectural and interior
design, structure and material selection, simple costing, project management,
and construction technique of the scale size building (model). For
this purpose, each group needs to design a single storey stage structure and
amphitheatre (for ‘live performance’ function) by following the required design
processes like conducting site analysis, sparking conceptual ideas and
producing schematic design before continuing with the design development. The
design must consider the topography condition of the given site (next to the
end of the HBP E08 Studio Block facing the Penang Bridge) and tropical climate
of Malaysia which is characterized by heavy rain, intense sunshine, windless
condition etc
The
permanent stage design must also be able to withstand loads (including wind
load).
The maximum size of the stage is 4.0m (width), 6.0m (length) and 5.0m (height) .
The main material of
the stage is timber.
PROJECT 7: EXHIBITION
(RUS104 XZBITION
2013)
Exhibition, be it a large scale
like World’s Fair exposition or a small one-designer solo shows, is one of the
most effective ways to present, share or sell a selection of items to the
specific crowd or people at large. The
items cover a wide range of displays, from natural structures or objects to
countless form of human making e.g. drawings, paintings, crafts, sculptures,
photos, written documents, industrial or research products, archaeological
artifacts, or even students’ studio works. However, the success of any
exhibition not only depends on the excitement or significant value of the items
displayed, but also on several other factors that involve the aspects of
exhibition planning, design and management. Architects, interior/exhibition
designers or curators may be needed to design and create an effective structure,
space and environment for displaying items with the creative concept or theme.
But on the other hand, non-design based actors may also be needed to plan and
manage the exhibition event from inception to closing ceremony, to ensure that the
event is effectively organized and thus, reaches its targeted group.
PROJECT 8: LIVE
PERFORMANCE
(RUS104 Performance
& Awards Night 2013)
A live performance
offers a unique, warmth and ‘personal connection’ between the performer or the
presenter with the audience. A live stage show like drama, dancing, singing,
orchestra or musical theatre offers some added excitement that the static
exhibition or conventional presentation is unable to play in delivering the ideas
and messages to the crowd. With the creative design of costumes and props, backdrops,
multimedia shows and sound & light direction, a live performance gives a
unique ambience and sense of entertainment for the audience to experience, thus
making it as important vehicle of communication.
